I know that there’s a risk that I might come across like the person who moans that their local village pub has closed even though they hardly ever visited it, but isn’t it a real shame that so few TOGS still log on to this forum? Looking back to what it was like only a few years ago it’s a shadow of its former self. At the time of typing (6th February) only 14 tributes to Sir Terry have been posted since the day of his passing a week ago. Well done and thank you to those of you who have taken the trouble to post your feelings. But to be honest the great man deserves so much more. In fact I could go further and say that the internet as a whole has turned out to have been a real disappointment in honouring Sir Terry. Whilst thankfully the BBC Radio 2 website features some lovely tributes and clips, the allegedly official Terrywogan, com website displays just a blank white screen (!) and, unless someone who is fluent in Chinese can tell me otherwise, togs.org doesn’t even have anything to do with the Togmewister and his loyal band of followers! Admittedly there is an official Terry Wogan Facebook page, which although hasn’t been updated since early November 2015, does contain some nice comments. However, the TOGS Facebook page is hidden from public view and access to it is by invitation only. A week on from Sir Terry’s untimely passing I still feel a great sense of loss and sadness, tinged from time to time with smiles when I recall the excesses of WUTW and ‘Janet in John’ in particular. Where are the TOGS and where are the tributes? Danoota This Togs site has been mainly abandoned for some time, with only a few diehards popping in now and again. The FB Togs site is alive and well but is a closed site and as you say, by invitation only. But it has around 950 members and that is where the Togs are and the tributes. If you would like to be amongst Togs, then apply to join - you'll receive a warm welcome. I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member. Groucho Marx

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Eve Looshan. Now I’m going to appear like a Luddite but isn’t it a shame that even the TOGS forum has succumbed to ‘Faceache’? Facebook is obviously overwhelmingly the social media app of choice these days but these now out of fashion forums allow far more subjects to be accessible at the click of a mouse or a tap of a screen. To be honest I also like the spontaneity that using a nom de plume allows…
Onda Edge, you’re so right and the loss of Sir Terry has shaken me to the core – especially as he seemed to be his normal self at the Children in Need Gala Lunch at the beginning of November. For him to be gone only three months later is something that I’m still struggling to accept. It all goes to show how fragile life is and how we must live life to the full every day.

A closed group for Togs. Sounds sadly incongruous somehow.

Agree totally with Danoota about how Social media has swallowed up the "old internet". I'll still pop in here from time to time.

At long last it's been announced that a thanksgiving service in memory of Sir Terry Wogan will take place on 27 September 2016 at Westminster Abbey. This will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Sir Terry's first radio broadcast for the BBC and is great news. Now, is it too much to ask that whoever looks after the official terrywogan.com website could update it? The great, late, Togmmeister deserves a lot more than just a blank screen! Even a nice photo of him and the words "Sir Terry Wogan 1938 - 2016" would be a good start......

I know I'm a broken record but the lack of on-line respect shown to Sir Terry by those with the capability to do better is beginning to annoy me. At I type this message the terrywogan.com website remains a complete whiteout and the Togmeister's Facebook and Twitter pages are still stuck in the first week of November 2015. I don't wish to intrude on the privacy of Sir Terry's family but where is his agent? Or is he\she content to see the memory of him fade? Sorry but I feel strongly that this isn't good enough.
